Walmart is Doubling Coupons Through August 27! (Thanks Kmart!) - UPDATED

Did you know that Kmart is doubling manufacturer coupons through August 27?  You must be a Shop Your Way Rewards Member to take advantage, but never fear, you can sign up for the membership in store, and it only takes about two minutes.

They will double manufacturer coupons up to .99 cents.  Kmart specifies that the amount of discount will not exceed the price of the item, and they do not pay overages.

But wait, there's more....

Walmart is price matching Kmart in my area, and I've confirmed tonight via telphone with my Walmart, that they are also doubling coupons during Kmart's doubler event.  SCORE!  *UPDATE:  I've been told by other people that you do not need a Kmart ad to price match the doubling event, and I've also been told that you do not need the rewards card to double at Walmart, but I'm taking an ad and my card anyways.  You just never know what a cashier will require.  Remember to follow the same rules at Walmart that you would follow at Kmart.

*UPDATE:  Both stores will double coupons to the maximum value of 99 cents.  This means, a 50 cent coupon, as well as a 75 cent coupon will give you a 99 cent discount on your item (the doubling WILL NOT exceed 99 cents.)  If you choose to double at Walmart instead of Kmart, make sure you aren't trying to double a coupon for product that you know Kmart won't carry, Walmart checkers may call you on it.  The CSM at my Walmart told me that any type of prepackaged grocery item should be fine.

Walmart will usually pay overages if the coupon exceeds the price of an item, but their policy has been known to change, so I'm not sure how that will work out for me, but it's ok, I'm still heading down there to see what I can pick up!  Coupon Tip:  ALWAYS BE VERSATILE!

Make sure you call your store in advance to see if they are participating before you head on down.  Good luck!
