Awesome Week with Albertson's Catalinas and Doubler Rumor Alert!!

The Albertson's weekly circular came out today and I have to say, the catalina offers look very generous!  For those of you who don't know what a catalina is, it is a reward given to you when you purchase the required number of items in a promotion, (i.e.  Buy $12 worth of Nestle products, receive a catalina for $4 to use on your next purchase.)   There is a little machine that sits at the cash register that spits them out as the checker rings up your items, if you have met the criteria for getting one (a catalina) with your purchases.  I love getting multiple catalinas when I'm checking out.  I like to refer to the catalina machine as "my little personal slot machine!"  (I'm weird like that lol.)

The nifty thing about a catalina is that you separate your transactions, and use the catalina from the first transaction to help pay for your second transaction.  I have seen some Albertson's checkers take the catalina right out of the machine and scan it on your first transaction, giving you the savings on your first trip, as well.

Example:

Purchase 4 Dreyer’s Ice Cream 1.5 qt. $3.00 each
Use (2) $1/2 Dreyer’s Products Coupons found in 6/12/2011Smart Source

Out of Pocket = $10 (not including tax)
Receive $4 catalina
Final Price: $1.50 each after coupons and catalina

Not a bad deal, right?  Here's where it gets even more interesting..I've read rumors that we will have Albertson's TTV (doublers) this weekend.  That would make the above deal, even better:

Purchase 4 Dreyer’s Ice Cream 1.5 qt. $3.00 each
Use (2) $1/2 Dreyer’s Products Coupons and 2 TTV coupons

Out of Pocket = $8 (not including tax)
Receive $4 catalina
Final Price: $1.00 each after coupons and catalina

There are multiple catalina deals this week that you might want to take advantage of.  I'm going to send you over to Fabulessly Frugal for Albertson's Matchups, until I grow into my blogging britches and can do them myself!   Don't forget, the prices on their matchups don't account for the Albertson's Doublers *yet*
